The crucial element of the 4.2 kilometres long four lane bypass is a 2.8 kilometres long two-bored tunnel with two traffic lanes each. The nature reserves and the water protection areas had to be taken into consideration in the choice of layout. The drinking water for the state capital Munich partly originates from the region, for instance. The geological and hydrological conditions in the mountain zone represent a technical challenge for the construction workers as well.
This is the second contract for the company Marti in Upper Bavaria after the exploratory tunnel for the Kramertunnel.
We are looking forward to realize this major project in the coming years together with our partners.
